2021 WB Mataro

“‍This isn’t a variety typically associated with Margaret River but Dylan Arvidson & Taryn Hogan aren’t here to play the regular game. 100% whole bunches, it’s bright & fragrant with musk, stalky herbs, raspberry & sweet florals. Vibrant & earthy but very clean-cut.”

2020 Vermentino

94 POINTS -Wild fermented, 40% in barrel, the rest in tank. OK, this is delicious. All the components are playing harmoniously here – the acidity is ripe & salty & the oak is seamlessly punched into the fruit, which speaks of nashi pear, crunchy green apples, summer florals & Asian spice ... there's a lot to like here. The phenolics are the final box ticked – chalky, fine & shapely. What a cracker.”

2020 Pinot Gris

92 POINTS - “Just short of 20 hours on skins before being pressed to 50/50% tank/barrel. Wild ferment, lees stirred twice a week. A salmon blush in the glass that would pass in a rosé class. This is very soft, very floral & quite round. The palate & finish have a distinct Tina wafer character to them, the length of flavour is deceptively long. Kind of like a cuddle with someone wearing a cashmere sweater. Searching for the tannins (as one does in skin-contact wines) reveals a fine skeleton embedded within.

2020 Chardonnay

94 POINTS - Majority Gingin clone (approx 75–80%) the balance Clone 95, co-fermented in French oak (50% new), wild yeast & partial MLF. Where the 2019 was racy, mineral & fine, this is concentrated, punchy & again – mineral. We can thank 2020 for the power; it was a warmer year, lower yielding, but by all accounts brilliant. As is this.”

2020 CHENIN BLANC

92 POINTS - “Organically grown fruit from the Churchview vineyard, barrel fermented in French oak (20% new). Brilliant fruit intensity on the palate: summer honeysuckle, cheesecloth, apricots, brine, something like glacé ginger & garden oregano. The scintillating green apple acid is tightly woven into all aspects of the fruit & winemaking, refreshing the palate & paving the way for another sip.”

2020 CABERNET SAUVIGNON

95 POINTS - “Fruit from the Celestial Bay vineyard in Wilyabrup, on skins for 4 weeks, basket pressed to oak (50% new) for 18 mths, bottled unfined, no additions other than sulphur at bottling. Cassis, ferrous, blood & plum, with lashings of raspberry, red apple skins & pink peppercorn. On the palate the wine is slinky & shapely, the tannins moulding the fruit through a long finish. Impressive 3rd release from a near perfect vintage.
