Since launching in 2009 Vinsight has gone on to firmly establish itself as a supplier of quality boutique and icon brands to the NSW/ACT wine trade. Our primary focus is the on-premise & fine wine retail markets, although we service all wholesale channels. Vinsight is recognised for the quality & stability of our portfolio & the personal service we provide.

We service customers throughout Sydney, Newcastle/Hunter region, Southern NSW, & the ACT.

Our team combines many years of fine wine selling, retail & hospitality experience, & a passion for the wines & winemakers we represent.


Kerry Smith

Kerry Smith, NSW wine distributor

Being born (on the last day of harvest) in the picturesque Clare Valley SA, Kerry grew up surrounded by vineyards, wineries & the people who worked them. While becoming degree qualified in Design, Kerry also worked in hospitality, catering in Cellar Doors in Clare before relocating to work in the kitchens of some of Sydney’s iconic restaurants.

Having a strong hospitality background & an affinity for wine, Kerry relished the opportunity to sell wine into the Sydney restaurant trade, advancing her career & experience through specialist wine companies to leading national on-premise sales strategy for Fine Wine Partners. At Wine Source she focussed on business development, channel strategy, team recruitment & improvements in field execution before leaving to take a breather via some consultancy work in the first iteration of Vinsight.

The lure of sales and 'getting her hands dirty' was too strong however so Vinsight morphed into the fine wine distribution business it is now, proudly representing highly sought after producers.  Kerry is back working closely with winemakers & amongst the trade where she has an enviable reputation for excellence in delivering results; a reputation earned with customers & winemakers alike.


Robert Horntvedt

Robert Horntvedt

Roberts' background is very diverse. After a number of years in the retail sector he moved into B2B sales & national account management in the drinks industry before spending a couple of years utilising his experience in Asian markets, based in Singapore.

On returning to Australia he was a key member of the management team responsible for the launch of Distinguished Vineyards, & when that business merged to become Fine Wine Partners, lead the Brand Development team with overall responsibility for trade marketing & principal management.

In the early days of Vinsight Robert also lectured in marketing at one of Sydney’s leading private business colleges, a great opportunity to refresh his marketing skills & pass on his real world experience.

Now, with more years in the drinks trade than he cares to remember, Robert is a true wine industry specialist, a great team leader, & is particularly known for his strong commercial acumen, all skills he brings to Vinsight.

He’s also a kick-arse cook.
