2020 Grüner Veltliner

90 POINTS - “Seriously, how could you not love a wine called Funkstille? And I am happy to say that the wine absolutely lives up to expectations. It’s a punchy, almost pungent version of Grüner Veltliner, which is generally quite a reserved & elegant grape variety. The more golden colour gives away this is a riper version although it also has retained some attractive freshness. It’s very expressive & almost explodes with yellow peach & custard apple aromas with Grüner’s telltale spiciness on the delicate side. It’s then dry & tangy with more earthy tones & gentle grip on the finish. Great value & a good introduction to Austria’s premier grape variety.”
